Richard Greco
RICHARD GRECO has been engaged in the appraisal profession since 1969. Starting part time (no such thing) with the Commercial Division of Menas-Nastasi Realtors and Developers, Astoria Queens, New York, Richard went on, in 1976, to form his appraisal practice, Richard Greco Appraisals and performs appraisalsin the States of New York and Connecticut.
Since 1969, Richard has performed thousands of commercial and residential appraisals for such clients as Banks, Savings and Loans, Credit Unions, US Justice Department, US Treasury Department, Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Veterans Administration (VA).
Richard also served as the New York Area Property Manager for both the Veterans Administration and Federal Housing Administration and presently operates, in additon to Richard Greco Appraisals, Richard Greco Real Estate, a Bronx-Westchester Brokerage firm providing real property sales, consulting and property management services.
A graduate of Excelsior College of the State University of New York, Richard was awarded a degree in Construction Technology and has served as a New York City Building Inspector. In 1981, Richard was appointed as a Small Claims Assessment Review Hearing Officer for the 9th Judicial District and is expert in assisting property owners evaluate their properties for potential reduction of property assessment and property taxes.
Richard has been married for 43 years and is the proud father of 3 sons, two of whom are themselves New York State Certified Appraisers, Christopher and Michael and the Honorable Richard Greco Jr., the former Assistant Secretary of the Navy. All 3 of his sons have been helping their Dad in the appraisal practice since the age of 9.
Among the notable properties Richard has appraised are the personal home of Lucy Arnaz, the daughter of Lucille Ball and Ricky Arnaz, the former New York City Condo of Martha Stewart, the 14,500 SF Mansion built by John Jacob Astor in 1907, Consolidated Yachts, City Island, Bronx, New York founded in 1860 and builders of the famous great ocean race yachts of Vesta, Henrietta. and Fleetwood and of course hundred of tug boats, subchasers and yacht conversions for WWI and WWII.

P.S. Yes, as noted in the photo, Richard does play the trumpet and is a former "Card Carrying Union Member" of local 802, the Muscians Union. Richard had is first audition in 1963 at Roseland Ballroom and has played professionally during the late 60s and into the 70s for such notable Latin Bands of the time such as Joe Valle, Manoline Morrel Campos, Rene Grand and opposite the great Latin Bands such as Tito Puente, Tito Riodriguez, Vincentico Valdez, Celia Cruz, Ray Barretto, Charlie Palmieri., Eddy Palmieri, Mongo Santa Maria and was proud to "gig" with the famous Latin Jazz Trumpeteer Doc Cheetum who at the age of 90 was still playing profesionally.

Richard proudly served in the military, United States Army where he served as a Military Police Officer and played in the 1st Armored Division Army Band, Ft. Hood, Texas and is also a retired Law Enforcement Officer.
